PPA awards scholarships at annual symposium

Now in its 21st year, the PPA scholarship program generously provides students with the excellent opportunity to attend lectures and tours, along with the chance to network with members of the perennial industry. In addition to a $1,000 stipend, scholarship recipients receive full access to the entire six-day Perennial Plant Symposium educational sessions, tours and trade show. Students enrolled in a two or four-year program are eligible to apply. Applications are due each year by February 1.

"As Past-President of PPA and as a horticulture professor, I am very proud of the PPA’s continued support to students interested in careers in the perennial plant industry,” said Dr. Dave Sanford of Penn State University. “This award enables undergraduate students, who might otherwise not be able, to attend our national symposium, to visit nurseries, garden centers, and tour outstanding private and public gardens. The students can make the most of this opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best experts in the field as well as expand their professional network. Fostering the connection between students and leaders of our membership is paramount for the industry’s future.
