Oh Happy Days! There is a crispness in the air and change is happening for the PPA!
Last month we shared the news that we had hired Emily Bibens Chung of Woody Bibens and Associates, Inc. as the new Executive Director of the Perennial Plant Association. I could not be happier to welcome her to our family! I am extremely optimistic that the PPA has found a leader with a team that can lead us into a brilliant future.
Emily will share more about herself in this newsletter, but I can say that the transfer of PPA officially just occurred the final week of September, and already I am feeling and seeing signs of change!
It will take a little time, but Emily and her team understand the Horticulture Profession and have wonderful ideas about how to move the PPA into a promising future.
One of the first objectives for Emily is to get us a web site that actually works. We need to be a little patient as she moves information from our jalopy of a web site and constructs a new secure site. Thus, membership renewal information will be coming to you via the email but we will ask that you mail or fax the completed form back to us while a new secure site is constructed.
Other things in progress are regional symposia in February for the Central region and the MidAtlantic; a collaboration with the Allen Centennial Garden in March and of course, the team in Chicago is working hard on preparing for your visit next July! There is always something brewing with the PPA.
I hope things are growing well in your world!
All the best –
Janet Draper, PPA President
