Sunny Border Blue Speedwell

The rounded leaves of this cultivar are luxurious, dark green and are oppositely arranged on the stems. Dark violet-blue flowers are borne in erect spikes. Plants are 18 to 24 inches tall when in bloom. This Veronica cultivar will flower throughout the summer and into early fall.

Interesting Notes
Sunny Border Blue speedwell combines effectively with a number of garden perennials in the flower border and also in other areas of the landscape. It looks especially nice with white, pink or yellow flowered plants. Consider combining Sunny Border Blue with Moonbeam coreopsis, White Swan coneflower, Missouri evening primrose, or a yellow flower daylily. Sunny Border Blue was introduced by Robert Bennerup of Sunny Border Nursery, Connecticut. 1993 Perennial Plant of the Year.

Growing and Maintenance Tips
Sunny Border Blue is tolerant of a wide range of well-drained soil types. Although this perennial will tolerate light shade, optimum flowering will occur in full sun. Regular dead heading will enhance extended bloom.
